El Museo Nacional de Arte Decorativo: Un Viaje a la Belleza y la Historia

El edificio que alberga el MNAD, el Palacio Errázuriz Alvear, fue diseñado en 1911 por el arquitecto René Sergent en un estilo neoclásico francés. Esta magnífica construcción no solo es un refugio para el arte, sino un testimonio del estilo de vida de una familia burguesa en el siglo XX. Durante los dieciocho años que la familia residió allí, el palacio fue escenario de recepciones, conciertos y bailes de caridad, integrando innovaciones tecnológicas como un sistema de calefacción central y ascensores, que lo hicieron un ejemplo de lujo y confort de su tiempo.
